Last week, members of the Sea Change Australia teamDr Jess Melbourne-Thomas, Dr Aysha Fleming, Dr Liam Fullbrook, and Professor Gretta Pecl — facilitated our first case study workshops in Albany and Fremantle, Western Australia.

With support from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), including Dr Gary Jackson and Dr Arani Chandrapavan and the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC), we convened a diverse group of stakeholders, including commercial and recreational fishers, peak bodies, resource managers, and researchers.

The workshops provided an important opportunity to explore the current and projected impacts of climate change on south-west nearshore and estuarine fisheries, and to collaboratively identify potential adaptation pathways for the region.
