Principal Research Scientist

Dr Jess Melbourne-Thomas is a Principal Research Scientist with the Sustainable Marine Futures Program at CSIRO. Her research focuses on connecting science to decision making for climate change adaptation and sustainability. Jess has worked as a Lead Author with the IPCC and was the 2020 Tasmanian Australian of the Year.

Fun-fact

My husband was a commercial aquaculture diver for 10 years and I got so used to him coming home smelling like dead fish that when he switched jobs he smelt strange to me (basically he smelt fishy when he wasn’t smelling fishy).
