This handbook provides a step-by-step guide to help fisheries managers and other fishery stakeholders assess and help address the risks posed by climate change. Like most risk assessments it follows several phases: a pre-risk assessment (scoping phase), the actual risk assessment, and then a post risk assessment which provides actions and/or recommendations.

The objective of this handbook is to help: i) develop strategies and priorities to account for effects of climate change in the management of fisheries using a risk assessment approach; ii) to assess how well the existing fisheries management framework will cope with climate change impacts; and iii) to develop an approach for fisheries managers to adapt their regulatory environment in the light of climate change impacts. The tool is fully available online through an app that guides users through the process.
