Dr. Liam Fullbrook is a marine governance and policy researcher based at the University of Tasmania, where he completed his PhD in 2023 with a thesis on “Integrated Ocean Management in Australia: The impact of persistent problems.” His research specialises in the assessment of strategies for sustainable and equitable use of Australia’s marine spaces. With an interdisciplinary background spanning natural sciences, environmental engineering, and social sciences, he brings a unique perspective to marine policy issues.

Liam currently works as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Tasmania’s School of Social Science, Policy Analysis Lead for Sea Change Australia, and contributes to multiple research projects on ocean governance, fisheries management, and climate adaptation. His work now mostly focuses on bridging the gap between policy, government, academia, and society to facilitate effective knowledge exchange and support informed decision-making in marine management.
