Dr. Julio Salcedo-Castro is a seasoned Physical Oceanographer and Environmental Consultant with over 20 years of international experience in marine science, climate resilience, and coastal ecosystem management. He has worked extensively in Australia, Chile, Canada, and Brazil, holding pivotal roles in government agencies, environmental consultancies, and research institutions. Currently Principal Environmental Officer at the WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, he has led or advised over 30 multidisciplinary projects, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), marine protected areas (MPAs), aquaculture monitoring, and climate change adaptation. With expertise in oceanographic modelling, environmental diagnostics, and stakeholder engagement, Dr. Salcedo-Castro contributes actively to UN assessments, national policy frameworks, and cross-sectoral environmental planning.
