Joel Williams is a quantitative marine ecologist from the University of Tasmania whose research is focused on how the changing environment is influencing the distribution of fishes. This includes across networks of marine parks and understanding and across fisheries activities and management. Joel’s collaborates with CSIRO, DCCEEW, FRDC, AAD, NSW Department of Fisheries. Joel grew up on the Mornington Peninsula, completed his undergraduate degree at Deakin University Warrnambool before completing his PhD at the University of Melbourne. Joel completed a postdoc at Murdoch University before joining the NSW Department of Fisheries as a research scientist. Joel started at the University of Tasmania in 2021.
