Research by Professor Matthew England (UNSW) highlights that the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), a vital system that moves warm, nutrient-rich water through the Atlantic, has been slowing over the past 50 years, with global consequences for climate and marine ecosystems.
