National Marine Stressors workshop
October 27 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

We are in for another challenging summer. This online workshop will provide new information, explore jurisdictional preparedness and link you to other managers and researchers.
- If you missed the last National Climate Briefing, it is available here. And the BOM Marine warming forecasting tool is at Ocean temperature long-range forecasts.
- Rationale for this workshop appears below.
- Please share this invitation with relevant managers and researchers in your jurisdiction.
- The finalised agenda will be circulated to registered participants closer to the date.
- It would be good if a person/persons from each jurisdiction self-nominated to speak to their preparedness for expected stressors.
Why are we doing this?
Forecast extensive MHWs; HABs concerns beyond SA; likely invertebrate blooms. All impacting F&A and near shore environment.
Who is our audience?
Resource and environment managers, and researchers in all jurisdictions. This is a restricted audience so that participants can discuss developments, challenges, learnings and needs.
What are we doing?
Bringing the network together to share experiences and forecast events, compare jurisdictional preparedness planning, and provide information and advice. This follows the first workshop that was run 12-months ago.
How are we doing this?
2.5 hr online workshop (see DRAFT agenda).
When are we doing this?
11-1.30 AEST, 27 October. If there is demand FRDC will host a reflective event in Autumn 2027.
