Dr Emily Ogier

Principal Research Fellow FRDC SSERCP

Emily Ogier is a social scientist whose research focuses on the ‘human’ dimensions (behaviours, collective
action, markets, institutions) of fisheries and aquaculture systems. She leads the IMAS’s social and economics
assessment team, as well as the FRDC’s Human Dimensions Research Coordination Program, and is part of
the Fisheries Climate Adaptation Handbook development team, who are rolling out the use of this handbook
to all jurisdictions in Australia.

Fun-fact

First job was in a fish n chip shop, followed by a job as a cook for crayfishers at the Abrolhos Islands in WA. After that I’ve been hooked on the seafood sector.
