Finding the Bright Spots: Building Optimism at the Science–Policy Interface

Effectively translating scientific knowledge into policy and practice is critical for addressing today’s environmental challenges. In this piece, Sea Change Australia’s Alistair Hobday explores the idea of “bright spots” — examples where science has successfully informed real-world decisions. By highlighting these success stories, the approach aims to build optimism and momentum for stronger connections between environmental science, policy and practice.
